This is my collection from the "clean up the world weekend 2010". It took me 20 minutes to collect a shopping bag full of trash from under the sand on a beach that is cleaned up daily during the summer season - a tractor ploughs the plastic in to the sand. Everything looks nice on the surface. I think it is global trash and anybody on any beach in the world can do exactly the same picture.
hey anke -
ReplyDeletea 20 minute cleanup! i love it! tonight was my 156th 20 min. beach cleanup on the daily ocean - my 365 non-consecutive day experiment to see how much trash one person can take off the beach. it was great talking to you about this before. be in touch - next time weigh your 20 minute count and i will add it to the daily ocean's community count. combined with my tally of pounds of trash collected off the beach we have over 1,000 pounds in less than half a year! yay!
thanks for your work and beautiful art -
sara
hey Sara,
ReplyDeletei did not forget your wonderful 20 minutes project. the trash is still in the shopping bag waiting to be weighted(?). comming soon.
anke! I am completely blown away by your beached art! You are so respectful to Mother Nature AND clever. You've made something so ugly into beauty. I'm not sure how I found your blog but I'm so glad I did. Thanks for making my day.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for that nice comment!
ReplyDeletegreat work!
ReplyDeleteLovely! How long does it take you to make your composition?
ReplyDeletehallo mano - herzlichen dank für den kommentar. dein blog ist auch sehr kreativ!
ReplyDeletehey Jenn - thank you. this took about 3/4 hour to arrange it. collecting 20-30 minutes - it is a place with quiet a lot of trash because of streaming and wind.
ReplyDeletehey Jenn - p.s. it takes a lot longer to arrange it in the studio to glue it. 3-4 hours to arrange and 2-3 days to glue it.
