happy new year

A very happy new year to all of you! 

I have the feeling something is changing on the plastic waste front looking at EU laws or supermarkets. That gives me hope - on that subject. 

So many other things are drifting in wrong directions. So let`s have the strength to fight for dignity and peace. Against fascism and racism. Against climate change and few being rich many being poor. For a better world. Save mother earth.

On my new beach I find a lot of clam. 

But my conscience is not that good picking them up making collages inspiring people to do the same. 

The dark mussels are from a wonderful dinner - no problem.

clean up Weststrand

Some kids and teenagers with their teachers from a nearby school and a park ranger did this beach clean-up. Fortunately we did not find a lot. But the winter storms are going to come and will be starting next month. Next clean-up in spring.

I am going to participate on the National park`s "Weststrand" Darss.

The beach clean-up season starts!

Next weekend: the Ocean Initiatives organised by SURFRIDER Foundation.

I thought this year would be nothing to collect - but today and tomorrow we have a storm outside from the east rolling over the Baltic Sea. Lots of marine litter!

Another beach clean-up event will be on March 24 at the

Nationalpark Vorpommersche Boddenlandschaft.

It is pretty cold at the moment and the beach starts to freeze. I went for 2 wonderful hours without one piece of litter! Whao! But the next storm is going to come as well as the tourists.
