It is depressing - and infuriating - to see what happens when two egomaniac old men cornered make a phone call. What kind of democracy is that? My deepest solidarity with the Kurdish and Syrian people in Rojava - and of course with all refugees in the middle east and the whole wide world. Shame on the world. We need a new UN.

coastal cleanup day

I did a little beach cleanup. Typical findings: balloons, flip flops, doggy pooh bags, sweets wrapper, cigarette ends. This beach is quite clean - no autumn storm yet.

Today Sept.1 marks the 80th anniversary of the Nazi Invasion of Poland - the begin of World War II. And Germany is deafening silent. No official commemoration. Only rising numbers of far right voters in today's eastern Germany regional elections. To the border of Poland.
Dangerous stupid nationalism is rising worldwide.
Never ever again.
